We welcome Dr Nik Kotecha OBE DL to our Advisory Council
Dr Nik Kotecha OBE DL joins our Advisory Council, ahead of the upcoming launch of Jobs Foundation East Midlands.
Dr Nik Kotecha OBE DL has joined our Advisory Council – a coalition of senior business leaders that will continue to shape the Jobs Foundation as we enter an exciting phase in our development.
Dr Nik Kotecha OBE is an award-winning entrepreneur, business leader, investor, philanthropist and Chairman of Morningside Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Since inception in 1991 as a garage start-up, Morningside has supplied quality medicines to more than 120 countries globally, as well as become a significant manufacturer and supplier of generic and branded medicines to UK pharmacies and hospitals. In 2017, Dr Kotecha and his wife, Moni, founded the Randal Charitable Foundation, of which he Chairs the Board of Trustees.
Alongside his business interests, Nik is also a board member for the Centre for Social Justice, a Trustee of the Kings Trust Council, a Deputy Lieutenant of Leicestershire, Pro-Chancellor at De Montfort University and a member of the Export Trade Advisory Group at the Department of Business and Trade. Nik has also previously held a plethora of senior roles, including as an Advisor to No.10 Downing Street, Chair of the East Midlands Confederation of British Industry, and as Chair of the international trade Steering Group at the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce.
Speaking about his new appointment, Nik said “I’m delighted to be working with The Jobs Foundation and supporting the development of their new East Midlands office. Job creation and tackling economic inactivity remain urgent priorities across the UK. It’s energising to collaborate with partners who share a commitment to strengthening regional economies, especially in areas where these challenges are felt most acutely.”
Alongside supporting our work in the East Midlands, on which we look forward to announcing more shortly, Dr Kotecha and our Advisory Council will be key to the upcoming launch of the Jobs Foundation Pledge, and our ongoing work to make the case for a policy environment that allows businesses to thrive and expand.
